Probably are crap, would be my luck since I got a set off of E bay.

Been in there for 8 months and no problems at all, and for what it is worth they are 4.10's

lot of people have asked about and used them. don't recall anyone with problems, but the big key is having them set up correctly.

My usual recomendation:

These guys also have a neat little shim pack that contains the side shims so they're easier to install.

Yukon gears are excellent. In fact that's all I will use anymore. They are the proprioetary brand of Randy's Ring and Pinion, and can be found at www.ringpinion.com

Richmond gears used to be the staple, but they whine in use, and caused me fits. I bought my first set of Yukons and noticed that they set up with an excellent pattern, yet made no noise in operation. I did a 8.8 Ford rear for my buddy's Lightening with them about two years ago and they have survived with no problems despite countless floggings. The truck has run a best of 15.0 in the 1/4 stalling up the converter against the brakes at the line and then flooring it when the tree goes down. I've got no complaints about the Yukons, and the price is right.
