TV valve sticking
Hi, I just installed a new transmission a couple weeks ago and ive been having some problems with the TV valve. My problem is that if I give it WOT the TV valve will stick. A little later when I’ve slowed down a bit and try to just cruise along, my 3rd and 4th gear will be gone. I stop and pop the hood and sure enough the TV cable will be sticking out in the WOT position. So I have to push the cable back down to get the valve to move freely again. I just installed a new cable and I even replaced the old valve with a Trans Go TV valve from my old transmission with no luck. Now here’s the weird part, when the car is off, I can pull on the TV cable to the WOT position, but when I have my friend start the car, the cable will pull out an extra 1/4 inch and stick. So far what I’ve done to temporarily fix this is loosen the cable 1 click to stop the valve from sticking. But to get my WOT shift point back to normal I had to loosen it another 2 clicks. Loosening it only one click will make it shift somewhere in the 6,000 rpm range(I even put my old governer in it, so it should have the original shift points right?). I know loosening the TV cable is bad on a transmission that’s why I want to fix this as soon as possible. Anyone know whats wrong?
