flywheel question

i have been planing on swaping in a t5 for a while now but i just thought of a possible problem. my car is an 89 and the parts car is an 86. is the flywheel going to bolt to my engine? im asking because i know in 86 or 87 chevy switched from a two piece rear main seal to a one piece. did they aslo change the bolt pattern?

my car has been down for 3 weeks now so im starting to get impatient please help

Im not sure about the bolt pattern, but I believe the crank hub, that fits tightly in the center of the flywheel/ flexplate is wrong.

Correct: the crank hub is what's different, along with the bolt circle.

But, 86 was the first year of the new style; so the 89 and 86 parts should be happy together.
