howdy all. I blew the tranny in my 90 rs 3.1L car. Now i know the 700r4 in those has a smaller bellhousing specific to the 6 cylinder. I found a trans online for sale, but ive never seen a transmission of my type out of the car. So i have no way of knowing if its right. Can anyone help me out. The code on the side of the casing of the trans hes selling is 7YXM169C. Any and all help would be appreciated.

 

The 7 means 1987. The ylm is the code. 169 is the julien date it was built (approx early june) c means second shift. I thought the Y part of the ylm is y body which is corvette. I am not sure though. Corvrtte is easy to id due to its lack of mounting holes for the tranny mount.
