got a busted up t-5 here and i want to look inside, how do i get this apart?

 

stand on it end in a drain pan for a bit

knock the roll-pin down in the shift gate block so it'll let the main shift rail move out of that block.

pull the tailhousing, holding the shift gate block in place with your thumb so you don't lose the spring & ball under it.

remove bolts to remove the top cover.
