th400 vs. 200r4

Car: 1984 Camaro Z28
Engine: Turbo V6
Transmission: 200r4
th400 vs. 200r4

i heard that the th 400 is the same length as the 200r4 is that true...will the driveshaft yoke from a th 400 fit into the 200r4 tailhousing??

Axle/Gears: ford 9in 4:56 to 1
I believe the short tail 400 is same length, and no the yoke wont work

Transmission: TH400 4,000 stall
Axle/Gears: Currie 9", 4.56 gears
Not sure of the 200-4r but the 200c that came in the 82 and some 83's were within 1/2 inch in length of a TH400 short tail. I used my stock driveshaft and changed over to a TH400 slip yoke.

where did you get the yoke for the th400?

Driveline shop where I had the driveshaft balanced.

Engine: carb'ed 305 in the 87, yuck...
Transmission: 700R4, for now....

The TH400 tranny mount is in the same location as the 2004R. The 200 uses the same yoke as a TH350 and the driveshaft for a TH350 car fits nicely with the 2004R tranny.
