700r4 or TH350

Ok i need help I want to get a transmission that will be bale to take at least 500 hp and can handle drag racing every so often. My choices are limited to the 700r4 and the TH350. what should I get? Running a 5.7 350.

If gas milage isn't too important build a 350. If gas milage is a concern, build a good 700r4. The 700 will cost more to build up than the 350 will. 700 also has a lower ratio 1st gear. Some people prefer this. Choice is yours.

You already own the 700R4, and it is a desireable unit if it is the original in your 91 car. Like Floorguy said, its up to you and your gas mileage.
