Corvette servo / long pin

I just installed a Corvette servo kit with a longer pin. Had to pull the trans to get the longer pin in. I have another car to do and wondering now if the longer pin was really worth all the trouble or benifit. Should I ditch the idea of replacing the pin on my next project or just use the stock one next time?
Thanks!

The transmission shop that I bought the kit from recommended the use of the longer pin with the vette servo. Supposedly for it's better fit and adjustment. I really didnt see all that much difference other than at the tip of the rod. Either way, had to pull the tranny to get the old one out and still wonder if the original rod would have been ok to re-use or would have made any difference with the end result.
