clutch fork / pivot screw question

just got a used bellhousing for my t5 to replace the cracked one so I remove the old clutch fork from the damaged bellhousing to install it on the new one and when I slide the fork onto the pivot ball the clip is very loose where the fork just slides off by itself.
Now I know there is no adjusting the pivot screw on the bellhousing so I would think that the clip has lost it's tension, if so would you recommend trying to alter the clip to maintain tension to the pivot ball or just buying a new replacement fork?

Replace the fork and the pivot ball if you can. Both wear out and fail at the worst times, don't forget to grease both the ball and where the throwout bearing rides. The forks also have a habit of bending over time, and unless you have a new one to compare it to, you'll never know.
