Yea, I went to the track tonight and my trans wasn't having it.

First 2 runs I launched horrible, spinning into 3.5+ 60' times...heh.

My first run was 16.534 @ 95MPH.

Back to the trans though, on my 3rd run it just wouldn't shift into 3rd gear. I shifted into 3rd at 5200RPM and before I knew it the engine was at 6000RPM and I'm like

Thinking I didn't shift it into 3rd I moved the shifter up another gear, and I was now in Overdrive. Still didn't shift into 3rd. Needless to say my rods were probably screaming for their life as my engine neared 6500RPM. Not cool.

So I got my slip, 15.1 @ 87MPH. I'm like yea, somethings not right cause I was 16.5 @ 95MPH with a 3.6 60'.

I ran again just to make sure, yep, no 3rd gear. I just took my foot off the gas and coasted the rest of the way.

So I've got 3rd and 4th at part throttle driving around, but WOT is a no go. What gives? Clogged valve body? I mean, if my clutches were blown I wouldn't have 3rd at all right? Is this fixable? I guess I'm getting a probuilt 700 sooner than I thought.

Real disappointing, I know my engine has a 13 second pass in it, trans just wasn't having it.

 

mine does the same thing , except i dont get 2-3 wot or 3-4 , i had it rebuilt and i think the guy is an ******* and screwed it up . From now on i think its worth it do to stuff yourself and buy one from a reputable place .

 

I should clarify, mine will not shift 2-3 or 3-4 @ WOT, only part throttle under 3,000 RPM.

My tranmission is stock, 84k on it. Any ideas?

 

3-4 upshift will not happen at WOT on a stock 700R4....normal.

 

I have no 2-3 shift at WOT, yet at part throttle my 2-3 shift is perfect.

 

Try adjusting the TV cable. If that doesn't work, time for a new trans.

Lack of a 2-3 WOT shift means something is going in the trans.
