Diff fluid refill ??

I had to take my axles out for a drum to disk conversion kit and I've got everyting put back together, but now I'm confused. It's a 10 bolt on an '88 Firebird and I was expecting a bolt on the top of the housing to refill it, but there isn't one. I found a plastic cap sticking out, so I tried to remove it and I ended up pulling out the whole thing. It's a plastic tube with a removable cap on the end, it has to be the refill point but it looks like you need some type of adapter to attach to it. Also, how will I know when it's full? The hole is too small to fit my pinky to check the level.

Anyone else see this?

There is a Pipe plug an the side of the Pumpkin. This is were you fill it up, once the Lube starts coming out of the hole - It's Full.

So a plastic tube fits over the end? I think I have one that will fit.
Thanks for the info.

No, No, No. I'm not talking about the Vent (White/Yellowish) cylinder cap off to one side of the Pumpkin. This is your VENT!!!

The filler is a PLUG on the side of the PUMPKIN (Around the Yoke area). You can use a 3/8's racket to get it off.

The plug you remove to fill the diff. with fluid is on the passenger side of the rear axle assembly. It's about halfway between the top and the bottom of the rear axle. It is removed with just a 3/8" ratchet, try not to use an extension on it, or it may strip.

Pull that little plastic vent cap and refill there. You don't have to pull the pipe plug.

Ok, I'll look for the filler plug again; I must have overlooked it the first time. Thanks.
