Tremec speedo adapter wrong?? PICS
Hey guys I got my tremec from Forte's today and it was missing the adapter plate for the bellhouseing and now I think this is wrong. Does anyone understand how this works? In the end of the pinkgear is a little square drive for a cable speedo and then on the end of my speedo sender its huge, there should be somting to link the two I guess but I didn't get anything. Anyone have a clue??

Looks to me like you put the blue thing in the trans with the gear on it, like you have it; then stick the VSS into the blue piece with its shaft lined up into the gear, and tighten the lock screw.

it doesn't go into the gear, the shaft hole on the gear is square and the one of the vss is a circle with a side cut off, and its also 5 times bigger...

OK, that's not obvious from the pic....
Sounds like you ended up with the speedo gear for a cable setup.
You need to call Forte's and get the gear for a VSS. Maybe call Tremec first and make sure such a thing is available.

the blue adaptor from Fortes looks correct, the Speed sensor from your car looks different, my VSS from my car has a square shaft on the end. You didn't have a speedo cable hooked up instead of the 2 wire plug?
Yea, something is not right. Get on the horn with Mike at Fortes, and he should get you straightened out. You dont have the electronic adapter that you need. RB is right on the install when you get the correct one. Only thing on my set up was, I had to modify the little "C" clamp that holds the hole thing to the trans with an allen head bolt. The original would not turn to tighten.
Did you get the adapter plate? It should come complete with the correct allen head fasteners as well, that will countersink into the adapter when you install it. BTW, if you decide to use an aftermarket scattershield, dial it in with a dial indicator, to a max. of .005, at 12, 3, 6, 9, oclock. Also, its easier to dial it in without the adapter in place. Just thought it was worth mentioning...
