What's an acceptable price to pay for a used 3 series carrier with 3.27 gears for a 9 bolt? Gears seem to be in pretty good shape, can't comment on the posi and it's status.
He's asking $120???????
I currently have the dredded 2 series with 2.77, thus my desire for an upgrade.

That's about average for a good set of used gears. The posi most likely needs a rebuild. I assume you are looking at this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7966202224
you can pick up parts for the 9-bolt here too: http://www.diffsolutions.com/

That's the one. I did end up winning the auction unopposed, so $100 plus $20 for shipping is about what I paid.
How much of the internal parts in the 2 series is interchangable with the 3 series?
Might cut down on replacement costs if a rebuild is in order.
