LS1 rearend (tried searching)

Hello all I tried searching on this and couldn't find the article. I am going to be doing the swap here shortly but couldn't find some of the posts I needed. I have downloaded the tech article and have read through it. I am trying to find out about the brake line problems. I know that you will need to cut and flair the brake lines but where? Also what modifications need to be made to get the e-brake cable to fit? If someone could point me in the direction of the articles it would be great, that way no one would have to retype anything.

Also on a side question. Would you guys recommend changing out the master cylinder if I have drum brakes now? I know the proportioning valve will need to be changed but there seems to be some debate whether you need to change the MC or not. Thanks.

for the hyd brake lines:

if it had TCS, its going to have two brake lines coming off the axle. you need to reduce this to one.
i havent done it myself, mostly because all of my 4thgen rears are from non TCS cars.... shouldnt be too hard with a nice T fitting... similar to stock.

for the parking brake:

you need to make or find a way to hold the cables in the trans tunnel.. once its on, you'll see what i mean.

the master cyl for thirdgens(except 82-82 iron ones) are the same for drum and disc brakes.. only the prop valve is diffrent.

If memory serves me right there are two lines going to the brakes. I will take a look at the rear brakes on my car to understand the t-fitting you are talking about. I also read about the brake cable but was trying to understand it, so I guess that is another thing I will figure out soon enough.

So do all of the lines connest without any problems or will there be some modifications involved with the swap?

This is what I did on my car.
I used the stock rubber line off of the body to the stock T fitting and then got 2 lengths of hard line to go to the ebrake cable bracket where the rubber and hard lines attach to the caliper.

The 2 lines I bought cost about $8. one was like 18" and one was like 22", but I would measure it just to be safe.

So that is really the only changing you have to do to the brake lines? I could have sworn I read somewhere that you had to do some pretty significant changes to the brake lines. Thanks for the help with this.
