knocking in tranny
knocking in tranny
got t5 tranny making a knocking sound on deceleration thought it was drive line but i seems to be fine ... the knocking appears to be rpm sensitive rather than speed ... im thinking a chipped or broken gear ... any thoughts ?

I might be experiencing the same thing, I have a knocking noise either coming from the rear of the engine or in the tranny itself. I gets faster with RPM, but is loudest at idle.
i dont seem to have it at idle just when slowing down in gear ... if i kick it into neutral,no more noise ... just sitting or when taking off its fine ... or at least i think so lol
found the problem .... it had to do with the after market traction bar,it had the rear end pointing the wrong way which caused the bushing in the tail houseing to go out and that let the tail shaft flop around making a knocking sound .... hope this helps sombody else in the future ... good luck ... tao
