gear ratio change
I think my 92 camaro has 2.73 gearing... if I change to 3.73 with a 425 hp engine, what kind of times would I see for the 1/8 and 1/4 mile....just approx times. The car has the 4L60 trans.
Thanks!
Thanks!

1/4 mile
Many factors are needed to estimate 1/4 mile times. With 3:73 gear, 26" tire, and a 355c.i. that is optimized to have peak power(a TRUE 400 HP) at 6,000 rpm and to be shifted at 6500 rpm, a thirdgen that weighs almost 3500 lbs. might see high 12's when run in 3rd gear with a 700R4 in the quarter. (This info is according to Quarter Jr. software.) You might crack a hundred mph at the big end at around 5500 RPM.

with the same engine and trans combo what would it run with the 2.73 gears?
At 65mph in od the rpm is close to 1500rpm... may not be the 2.73

Mid 13's, but you would only be in 2nd gear through the traps. Simulation shows mid 13 at 6400 rpm in 2nd, just over 100mph.
