vette servo trouble
vette servo trouble
i'm in the process of installing a corvette servo. i can't get the servo to clear the trans tunnel. i read you don't have to lower the tranny while installing them, so i don't know if i'm doing something wrong or what. if anyone could help me out, i'd appreciate it. thanks alot guys.

Never done it before, but I plan to in the near future. In my research, you need to undo the motor mounts and tilt the engine. But I'd at least take out the trans mount too...

I remember reading an install guide somewhere, and it says you don't have to lower the tranny (although putting a jack under the tailshaft and removing the crossmember would probably be easiest), but you do have to get a friend to help you pry it towards the driver's side so that it will clear the tunnel (you may have to unbolt the tranny mount from the crossmember to get more range of motion). If you lower the tranny, check for clearance between your distributor cap and the firewall so that you don't break it.

i took the trans crossmemeber off and lowered it with a jack and my jack was tall enough to keep the distributor from hitting the firewall but gave me enough room serously i dont see how your suppose to get that done with out lowering it its apain i dont even think a cat could get its paws up there theres not really that much room also i would rather lower and make sure nothin gets in there and check with my own eyes rather then asume everything is alright.
if you got anymore questions just post i did thatis and the boost vlave like 6months ago when it was 30degrees out LMAO i was bored .
