Shift Kit install...

So I just got my Transgo shift kit in from summit along with the B&M boost valve. Im 17 and confident in my mechanical abilities. I've built the motor for my car and am doing a frame off restoration on my K5 Blazer. What I was wondering was how difficult it is to install a shift kit. I've never really dug into a transmission enough to know what goes on inside there, but i would really like to learn so this would be a good experience. If anyone could give me a heads up on what to expect that would be great.

The Trans-Go Performance Shift kit with video should have the large .500 boost valve, & .300 intermediate/reverse boost valve. What size is the B&M boost valve?
