loss of drive with a 700r4.
I don't know whether this is an actual loss of drive. Went to take my car for a drive and drove about 1/2 a mile then had to stop for a stop light, went to take off again and revs went up over 2000 but car hardly moved forward so returned home. Checked fluid level, seemed OK, went out again and had exactly the same thing occur again. If I put my foot on the throttle revs increase as if the car is in neutral but car will not go above 10-15 m/h in speed. I have a B & M Megashifter installed but that was installed a while back and car has been driven since and everything was fine. Yesterday I installed an after market air cleaner which I thought may have been binding on the TV cable but this was not the case. I have tried to adjust the TV cable according to the Haynes manual but it says that once you push the slider back up against the fitting to open the throttle linkage to WOT and they say that the cable should ratchet through the slider but my cable does not ratchet back through or doesn't seem to because I can definitely not hear it clicking.
I am absolutely at a loss to explain this, last time car was out everything was fine, all of a sudden this happens. Could this be the torque converter as I am not quite sure where this comes into the whole setup and the only other thing that I can think of is B & M said a relay was needed for the torque converter lockup. I didn't use the Radio Shack one they recommended as I am in Australia so I just used two separate relays but as mentioned everything after the initial installation was fine so I really don't know what has caused this.
Any and all information would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
