Ok, so I'm in my shop at school today, and I see this carrier sitting under a table. I looked closer and saw..springs! Holy crap, this is a posi! So I looked at it more carefully. From the ring gear on it I saw it was a 2 series, I counted 26 splines, and measured the ring gear and came up with 7.6 inches. SCORE!

So now I need to know if I can rebuild this sucker. I would also like to know more about it, so if these numbers I found on it mean anything to anyone, please say so.

Thanks

Oh, and the most important part. I have to get my 3 series gears to work with this 2 series carrier. I havent been able to find a spacer. Summit lists these four spacers, but they all say in the description that they're for putting 4 series gears on a 3 series carrier. Is this wrong? There's even one that says it's for two series, but I just want to make sure...

Drivetrain Specialists www.drivetrainspecialists.com carries the spacer. It's $55 IIRC. They recently fornicated their web page, so it's not on it any more; call them. They'll have it.

That's an Auburn part #. You can verify that it's an Auburn by the presence of the logo in the pic. Go to Auburn www.auburngear.com and get their phone #, and see what they offer. Also, the people I listed above, have parts for some of the stock posi units, from somewhere other than the OEM; if Auburn can't help (as I suspect they'll be worthless ) try DTS.

Incidentally, none of those spacers you posted, is for this model of rear end.

Nice, thanks. I'll check them out tomorrow morning, and if this thing is in good shape, I will order a spacer.
