I currently have a 3.23 open rear in my 91 bird(factory rear).

I just purchased a 3.08 posi rear from a 91 trans am-t5.

I want to pull the posi unit out of the 3.08, and use it in my 3.23. I assume this is possible. Is it something i should try myself?

I have multiple engine and tranny swaps under my belt, but i have no clue about the rear.

Has anyone had this done by someone, if so, what did you pay?

Well the 3.08 is series 2 and 3.23 is series 3. You can put a spacer with the series two carrier and the series 3 gears to make it work.

 

really, i was under the impression they were the same carrier. Darnit.
