ATF leak at the speedo cable

Like the topic says, Im leaking ATF out around the speedo cable. Its my fault since it was pretty low on the food chain during the rebuild and I didnt really pay much attention to it and now I cant remember for the life of me how it was supposed to go together.

Anyway, how should the seal be set up there? Is there a retaining ring that holds the seal in, or is it an o-ring behind it for the speedo cable?

Right now the seal there seals well, but walks out and spews like hell when it gets to the end of the driven gear shaft.
