I left my house and stopped at a stop sign. The car pulled foward like it wanted to go on it's own.

I was in town and i put it to the floor and at about 30 mph it started to slow down.

The next time i did it, it wouldn't shift out of 1st.

I can sometimes get it to go in third and skip 2nd.

The tranmission fluid it burned and smells nasty.

I dont want to go spend a lot of money because i am ignorant.

what are some things it could be so i dont look stupid when i take it in.

I dont want to be told it has to be rebuilt if it doesn't need it.
