why would one choose a non lock up over a lock up?

why would one choose a non lock up over a lock up?

just wondering what the advantages are. i found a pretty good deal on a non lock up- just curious on the pro's and con's

Transmission: TH350 W/A STALL
from what i understand, thats exaclty it, its a deal, about 300 instead of 450 roughly. only difference is the lock up gives you better gas mileage once it locks. a non lockup always has some slippage.
