sloppy shifting in all gears

last summer I had a B&M over hauling kit done on my 700r4. since then, none of my gears bite hard at all! The trans slowly slips in to the next into the next gear when shifting while punching the gas. When I talked to the guy who did it for me, he told me that the kit said somthing about drilling hole in the gaskets, but he didn't do it, could that be my problem??

Well, if he didn't follow the instructions to the letter then I would say that is probably your problem. I don't know if I'd let him work on anything else either.

Yes, not drilling the holes in the gasket is the direct cause of your slow shifts.

Good mechanic knows how to read and follow instructions. Good transmission mechanic knows what the holes in VB gasket are for.

In any case, putting a shift kit in a 700r4 VB is not that big of a deal for a DIY-er, you can do it on your kitchen table in one evening.
