T-5 shifter question
T-5 shifter question
I have a project I am working on and I need to know how to separate the shifter handle (long steel shaft part) from the shifter mechanism itself. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. Thanks.

Don't know that you can on the factory shifter. It's rather easy (two bolts) on the Hurst and Pro 5.0 after market shifters though....

When i did this I heated it up whith a torch intill it started smokeing then i twisted and pulled intill it was set free. The bushing is rubber and was not damaged bad to reinstall clean well and get some good A+B apoxey and you are good to go I do not know the correct way of doing this or if you can get a new bushing, Good Luck Joined: Jul 2000
