pivot ball part number

anyone have the stock pivot ball number to fit into the lakewood scatter proof bellhousing? I had the adjustable one in and it came apart and the threads are all messed up in it. I'd rather not get another adjustable pivot ball to avoid this same problem again. If I must, will the mcleod adjustable pivot ball fit the lakewood bellhousing?

thanks

I don't think GM makes a pivot ball that will fit the lakewood bellhousing without retapping the hole. I bought the mcleod adjustable pivot ball (summit #mcl-16908) after summit's tech support told me the threads were the same. In order to install the mcleod pivot ball, I had to have a machinist cut off a few threads because lakewood didn't thread the hole all the way through, as far as i can tell.

good times

The 82-83 f-bodies have the same in-bellhousing ballstud as tonnes of GM applications with mechanical linkage. The hydraulic 84-92 bellhousings used a different stud with different length & different thread.

Try one for an 83 T5 V8 f-body. Dealers sometimes have these in stock.
