Car: 1989 Pontiac Trans Am GTA
Engine: 5.0/305
Transmission: Hurst 5-Speed manual
Stand Still Question

alright guys i was wondering if any of you guys know how to do a standstill in a manual transmission trans am? I hope this isn't a stupid question but i'd really like to know how to do it. I just can't figure it out . Thx for your time guys

Transmission: TH-700-R4
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt with 3.23's and SLP Posi.
Line Lock!


other wise you need to turn your right foot sideways, and give it enough gas to break em loose and hold the brake, and let the clutch out with the other.

Axle/Gears: 3.27 posi disc
Yup, right foot "heel-toe" maneuver. You need to apply brake enough to keep the car from rolling and also press on the gas pedal to get it going. Once the rears break loose, moderate the RPM's by the gas pedal, don't let the rev limiter do its job.

Both cars in the picture have a manual (one T-5, one T-56):
