TH350 fluid capacity?

I just rebuilt a TH350C from an 85 van. We took the conveter out and dumped out as much old fluid as we could get out.

Does anyone know how much fluid the TH350s take? Should you fill it half way and then start the engine for 20seconds first, or just put it all in?

I can't find the capacity of these trannies listed anywhere. Thanks

THey hold somewhere around 11 quarts, starting out dry.

If you're using a used converter, it'll probably take about 9 to fill it.

Put about 5 quarts in it before you start it; add 2 more as soon as you start it up; check it, fill up to Full, and top it off after driving it around.
