Setting the TV cable question

Engine: 229 V6, L98 TPI 350
Transmission: TH350, 700R4
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt ???, 9 bolt 3.27 posi
Setting the TV cable question
I've searched and stuff, looked in the books
as far as i know, i've done it right......
this is on an 89 bird with a carb'd 350.....
i pushed the "D" button down as far as it would go, pulled the cable housing itself all the way back (toward the firewall), released the tab, and manually operated the carb throttle bracket (Where the tv cable is attached) all the way to full throttle and back, but from what i could tell, the cable housing didnt move at all....
is this OK? or did i do something wrong? Thanks

edelbrock 1406 carb, just the regular bracket i guess....

What's "the regular bracket" though? Your car didn't come with a carb originally in 1989.
