t-5 acting wierd

Here's the deal, I've been driving the car several weeks and have had slight troubles shifting into 2nd gear. Nothing big, I can always get it to go in if I granny shift it. The other day the car got stuck in 4th gear. I could pull it into neutral, but even in neutral the shifter wouldn't move at all it was stuck in place. I know it was neutral because I let out on the clutch and it went nowhere. I messed around with the shifter some and it all of a sudden loosened up and started working normal again. So I drive it home without using 4th gear because it kept sticking in 4th. Would go in smoothly and then stick there. Yesterday I take it out and now it grinds going into 4th and doesn't want to go in. If I try to shift to 4th and it grinds then the shifter gets stuck again and I've got to move it around to get it to go into any gear. By stuck I mean it's in neutral and the shifter will not move, not side to side, not up or down, nothing. Until I grab and pull it around some, kinda forcing it, then it free's up. It feels and acts like the clutch is not fully disengaging from the flywheel. I bought a slave cylinder for it and will jack it up and see if that will solve anything. Just seems like odd behavior to me. Any thoughts? Thanks.

sounds exactly like the clutch disengagement problems I was having. when you pull the slave cylinder, go ahead and pull the rubber boot around the clutch fork and make sure it is seated on the pivot ball correctly.

Well, go figure, I forgot that I posted this on here. I just put a new clutch, slave cylinder, flywheel, rear main seal, pilot bearing, and oil pan gasket in the car and the clutch grabs nice, but I still have the same problem. BTW the stock clutch, bearings, etc. were shot. Anyway, if I would've checked this I could've checked that out while I was under the car. Guess I'll just jack her back up and see what I can do. I know that the shifter fork moves around easily and doesn't seem to be as solid, or seated like it should be. I hope to *** this is the problem and I don't have to buy a tranny. Thanks for the reply. You may have just saved me a bunch of money.
