best/cheapest manual alternatives?

Im looking for a good strong tranny for my car since the syncro's went in my T-5. but i dont want to buy a special $350 flywheel and another 200 to get my mech speedo working with a 6-speed on top of buying the tranny parts and it seems that about 2100 for a tko 500/600 is a bit much. i want to know if there is any other alternatives to a strong manual transmission, i ran 12.78 this year with my car and i plan on changing the gears soon and doing other small things to it, but maybe later down the road adding a S/C. so i dont know what would be cheapest and still be strong, i know you can now get the T-5 internally upgraded but isnt it about $1700? which isnt too bad but i really need to get something in my car soon.
