i bought my 700r4 used, with about 2000 miles on it. I bought it from someone I sorta know (not very well), and he bought it from a friend of mine who was the one who had it rebuilt. I was told that it has a trans-go shift kit in it, but the little bit that i have driven it so far i'm NOT impressed. I was expecting to really feel the shifts and stuff, but it seems like even at WOT the shifts are nice and smooth.....not REALLY what i want, LOL
Any way to tell for sure if it has a shift kit? The first owner decided to put a 5 speed in his car, the 2nd owner never really got the tranny in before finding a 5 speed i guess, so thats why they both sold it.....
Any ideas?

 

judging from what you are say, it may be stock, or maybe like an RV type of kit
but even those are firm when shifting

if it had a kit chances are it would hit hard, especially at WOT

i knew she had one when we stomped on the pedal
it hits hard and firm, chirps the tires
and causual driving very firm

 

The TransGo 700SK and 700SKjr shift kits repair or prevent common problems in the transmission, they don't increase shift firmness. For that you'd need the 700-2&3 reprogramming kit.
