153-tooth 2-pc 30lb part number?
Can anybody tell me the part number and/or casting number of a 153-tooth 2-pc-seal ~30lb. flywheel?
Also, does anybody know if there would be a problem using one of those on a '72 engine with a '72 transmission? In other words, is that flywheel limited to use with a T5, or will it work with an older-type transmission? Mine would have normally used PN 3791021/3791022, but that one has long been discontinued, and they don't pop up too often around here in the boneyards.

as long as your starter, engine, and clutch all agree with each other, it should all bolt together. the only major problem is gonna be if you want to use a ludicrously huge clutch, and also that your starter is for a 153-tooth flywheel. 2-piece RMS is pre-'86, i think. external dimensions on small block chevy's have been prettymuch identical from the 60's until the early 90's and the advent of LT1/LT4, if im not mistaken.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if there was some kind of difference in the center depth or something. I just checked the used listings at www.car-part.com & they show the '80s units to be interchangeable with the older ones, so I guess I'm boneyard bound.
Any idea what the casting number is on the later wheel?
