i've got this clanking sound that just wont go away, is the most annoying thing i've ever heard. at first i thought it was my brake pads slapping around because it started right after i replaced them but im almost positive now thats not it. if i shake the rear of the car with my hands up and down i can hear it if its stopped. any thoughts or things i should check? because this is driving me NUTS, and it seems to be getting worse.

Here's my educated guess.
You put in a new rear end, or a different one. Did not wanna mess with the e-brake so cut it off. However, you forgot to cut off the part of the brake that is conected to the e brake handle in your car. This left a big *** bolt on there with a metal plate on it. Its just haning around you know. It is hitting your driveshaft and thats what the clunking noise is.
Now check under your driveshaft towards the end of the tranny and if that bolt there is not loose dont listen to my uneducated ***. Or if it is, secure it or cut it off.

Now, more detail would help, so let us know how it sounds and where. Rear end is soo vast for me to troubleshoot. Need specifics
