Is it gonna blow?

I'm putting a 400 in my 86 z, it was a factory 2 bbl 175hp 400ft lb engine. I've got a carter 625, high rise intake, an older performance cam and I shaved the heads a little and used marine gaskets for a little more compression. I don't know how much extra hp and torque I'll end up with. How long is the T5 gonna last? Oh yeah, it's now also got a s10 posi with 4.10 gears.

It depends how you drive it. If you like to do 6000 RPM dumps your going to leave that thing on the pavement fast but if you take it easy if should last like its behind a V6.

unless hes built that engine up w/ really good internals then id say the engine will go just as quick as the trans if hes reving to 6 grand thats one bad thing about the 400 sbc it just wasnt built to be very high reving

I do plan to race it a bit, I don't know about 6000 rpm though. I thought those t5's were only good for about 250ft lbs torque...
