weird problem with my 700r4

i rebuilt the tranny and had all kinds of problems now im dealing with problems one by one and the weirdest one is the tranny doesnt shift from 3-4 but when the tranny warms up a bit it doesnt shift at all but when its ice cold and just started it shifts 1-2-3 really nice, 5 mins later nothing

you say this is the weirdest one. what other problems are you having cuz they might be related. this current one could be misplaced check-***** in the valve body or case, bad valve body, bad governor, or mis-aligned/missing seal on the 2/4 servo. was the pump faced cut to ensure flatness? those symptoms you describe could have a lot of causes.

well dude i had serious problems with the transgo shift kit it totaly screwed with my tranny, i got rid of that went back to a stock valve body with the trans go spacer plate the valve body has a mr shift valve spring kit which brings the valves back to factory specs the servo is a corvette servo, the pump was never opened the govner was changed to a f-body one and the check ***** went back as per the astg book for the year 1992 which corrisponds to the letters on the tranny, i dont know what else to look for or do, i cant understand why when it gets warm it doesnt shift at all, could it be a blockage in the trans cooler?

ok. i was asking about the pump cuz it may have some damage to the face or be warped causing it to lose pressure. there could be a crack in the case that doesn't show up till it gets warm. that happens a lot. you said you had a transgo shift kit in there before. one of the plugs could have come loose and partially blocks a passage. i have a transgo shift kit in mine and it works great IMO. the 2/4 servo has sealing rings on the pin and both pistons that could have been damaged on install. how is the pressure when these symptoms occur?

when i had the transgo kit in my car it was a restricted reverse and it only worked in 2 and 3 gear i pulled it out and returned everything to stock. before when i had the kit in i had bad line pressure but it did have a shift even when hot andit ran really hot now i took the kit out i get good shifts for 1-2-3 but no 4 when its cold, i havent checked my line pressure yet, the whole reason i started with this tranny cause the front planet gear blew up, i do have an extra case should i try switching everything over??

you could try that(switching out case) the transgo shift kit could have been providing enough pressure to get it to shift wereas the calibration of the stock will not. i would take a good look at the 2/4 servo and make sure you didn't damage a seal on the install or forget one. the restrictors in the transgo shift kit i installed in mine also. how did you get these out of the case? before disassembling the whole tranny, pull the servo back out and check it real close as well as the bore of the case that it fits in. the common problem between the two valve bodies is no 4th which is band or servo.
