new trans in car, long story though the old stocker with B&M shift improver worked great. Decided to build a tougher one that I think I hate!
Following parts:
-Alto red clutches and steels
-2nd and 4th gear super servos
-kevlar band
-boost valves
-13 vane pump kit.
-hardened sprag and sun gear.
-trans go shift kit race setting.
I really don't think it shifted hard as the stocker with $32 shift kit did. It has a more delay on 1-2 shift and lags on 2-3 shift when driving normal.

I hate shift timing on the 700's :-) (actual apply, not the rpm)
More than likely from what u are describing, you may have to play with the release and apply for the 2-3 to get it in order.
PIA to get exactly right.
Also of note, noticed u had done prior work before u went thru it last time.
Did u start with a new seperator plate? So all the orifices are drilled out and some arent too far or others are drilled that are not supposed to.

Thanks Jeremy,
Actually this was a whole new case from a 90 caddy, which I did not even know they came in.
So it was a virgin trans.
Where is the release and apply? and what should I do?
The reason for the new trans in first place is due to lack of converter lock... may sound funny but here is the run down.
Stock converter worked great..
Installed 2400 stall - worked great.
installed B&M 3000 no lock up at all, changed celiniod though I could hear it working whith car off.
B&M sent new converter, it locked (2) times right out of my garage then stopped locking.
Then thinking it was my trans, I rebuilt that tranny and reinstalled same converter - no lock still.
Installed TCI street fighter and it worked flawless! great lock up, never a problem - even at WOT.
Sent converter out to be retalled to 4600 after (1) year of running
and put back it - it was locking but slipping when some throttle was applied. so worked good for cruising but only light throttle.
Sent it back to be retalled to a Super Streetfighter as 4600 was killing the tires and had 12 lock disc put in.
Reinstalled in car and guess what - no lock!!!!!
So thinking it was something weird with that trans I got a whole new case... to my dismay - no lock.
Now what I am going to do that I have not yet, is actually check
voltage to trans.. I have checked for power and ground when issues first come up - but never thought to check actual voltage....
Also another question if you do not mind, there are (3) wires going to, The ECM switch ground, the power, what is the third?
Thanks for reading my saga

different set-ups inside the tranny as far as switches and such. these help dictate when the convertor will lock up and when it doesn't. outside the tranny, one wire supplies power to the solenoid, the other signal to the ecm, another ecm ground through the switches in the tranny when a certain valve train combo is made. this one coming out of a caddy(i never heard of it either) means that the set-up will be different most likely but it should still lock up.

Another thing from what u just said.
What is the valve body out of? the cad or the f-bod?
Some valve bodies are drastically different from each other, I always try and start with the high po valve body and work from there.
Get an ATSG manual and do some searching here on 1-2 and 2-3 shift timing, should also net u some great pics. Basically comes down to exhaust to release the gear and the apply orifice to apply the gear(dpending on whether it be 1-2 or 2-3,etc)
Jimmy's in Mundelain IL and Pro-Buit here on the boards are two awesome guys to talk to and could more than likely help you out over the phone. (talked to them a few times and they are great to deal with)
