I'm thinking of swaping the original 305 in my 85 T/A for a ZZ4 350 crate engine. As most of you know the ZZ4 has 355 HP with 420 lbs of torque will the stock 700R4 be able to handle that much HP and what about the stock 3.08 posi track rear end will it also handle that kind of power?

 

my stock 700r4 handles it and so does my stock 9 bolt rear end, even if you have the 10 bolt it should. i would look into a shift kit and auxillary tranny cooler though.

 

If the trans is healthy it will be fine.
