I am trying to decide what rpm stall converter I should use in my car. The motor is a rebuilt 350 with stock TPI, 2.02/1.60 ported/polished heads, 264/274 .480/.480 cam and a 3.42 rear end.

The use of this car is going to be a strip/street car. It may see a couple passes on the 1/4 mile per year. Mostly cruising on the weekends.

What do you suggest and why? Obviously I am looking for a bit more launch, however I want to retain the overal highway driveability of the car.

Just judging by the lift of the cam I assume the duration you have listed is advertised....what is duration @.050 since this will show where the powerband will be and thus what stall speed you should look for.

For street strip duty-10" all the way, 4 years running 10" stuff and all have performed perfectly.

Duration at .050 is 210/220.

I am looking at a 10" 2000 rpm stall or a 10" 2400 rpm stall. Which would be better? If neither I am open to suggestions.
