t-5 swap
does anyone know exactly what parts need to be bought for a swap. can you interchange parts like a 85 bellhousing from a nwc t-5 to a wc t-5. im switching to a wc t-5 and was curious what stuffs different. can you use pretty much all the same stuff from a nwc t-5 to a wc t-5?
thanks
thanks
I know the rebuild kits are different, not sure about the bellhousing. The pedals, crossmember, torque arm, clutch, flywheel, throw out bearing, shifter, slave master, etc are all interchangable as far as I know. But I haven't done multiple swaps of either using parts from the different class tranny, so not able to verify 100%.

Transmission guts are not interchangeable between WC and non-WC. But, clutch/slave/master/and bellhousings are. Just make sure you have an '84-up V8 bellhousing if you're gonna use a hydraulic clutch.

here are the parts you need
Tranny
Flywheel
Bellhousing
clutch/pressure plate kit
Throw out bearing
Pilot bearing/bushing
pedals
shifter
shift ****
hydraulics (master cylinder, slave cylinder, hydraulic line, resevoir and rubber line for that)
pedals
Torque arm mount (I believe)
trans fluid
some wire and a connector to hook up the reverse light
VSS Sender
clutch neutral safety switch (my 88 Formula had the connector for the switch near the drivers side kick panel already, just had to plug it in)
I think this is all of it.
We did my swap last fall and it took a complete day swapping 2 tranny's, auto from my Formula into a friends 88 GTA and vice versa with the T5.
