in my 89 gta the transmission(700r4 i think) is starting to slip really bad. if i start it in L1 it will work fine untill higher speeds like 20mph, then if i let of the gas and then get back on it again and it will rev up to like 3 grand before it engages again. it does this in every gear at higher speeds. could it be the torque converter or am i looking at a tranny swap. by the way i changed the filter and fluid and there was very little metal shavings in the bottom of the pan. your help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

 

It is probably roasted clutches.
