Which trans for which car?
Ok just looking for your opinions on what trans i should put in what car.
I have a TH350C, 700R4 and a powerglide as a backup trans. Also have a set of 3.08 and 4.11 gears.
First car is the one in my sig, ill be using it as a daily driver and plan on doing a long roadtrip next summer. I figure the new motor should be putting out around 350-400 HP. So max reliability is needed here. I want the 700R4 in here but dont want to spend a small fortune to make it bulletproof, and i figure the 350C i will keep my really crappy gas mileage.
Second car is also an 84 Z28 but it will be gutted and will be my weekend trash and bash car. Motor will most likely be in the -300HP range.
What is needed to make the 700R4 handle 400HP being reliable and somewhat cheap?

well it all dpeends on how much work you wanna do and how much $$ you like to spend
sounds like ou dont want to spend much
so in that case you better just stick one or the other trans in without spending on having it built or anything
what length is the th350 ? how long is the th350 tailshaft housing ?
6" ?
9" ?
what trans was in the car ?
if you plan on no highway driving in the car then go for 4.11
other wise go with 3.08
but then make sure the engine has parts in and on it for higher RPM performance, if you just want to have fun with it anyways
good luck
