Open to posi

I have a 3.42 open rear. My friend has an extra 2.73 posi rear. Can I install the posi unit into my rear end, or are they not a match?

No, the 2.73 posi is different. You need a posi unit for a 3.23 or higher ratio gears.

basically yes you can but you run into the differance in the series and matching gear sets to the series. the carrier will fit, the gears you have won't work with that carrier.
