went in ditch, need help with tailshaft???s
this sucks, damn snow, i went in a ditch cause it was slick, but when i went in i went over a hump, then hit a tree. i came to rest on the hump, and in the middle of the hump there was a huge tree stump, and it landed right behind the trans mount, and the tailshaft was right on top of the stump, so it bent and broke my torque arm bolts, possibly bent the drive shaft, it also knock my floor pan on the drivers side up bout 7 inches, so i was wanderin if was expensive to replace the tail shaft and maybe the driveshaft. o yeah, the worst thing that happened was after i did this, i had went home to call a friend with a truck to pull me out. i wasnt gone from my car 15 min, some jerk off came and stole my cd player, and popped my hood, and stole my chrome air cleaner. i had three eye witnesses, who seen who did it, but of course the kid denied. its a bunch of

that sucks. are you gonna press charges?
the tail shaft and housing aren't that expensive but the tranny will have to come apart to change the shaft. if it did that much damage externally, i would wonder what other internal damage it did to the tranny.

Man, bad times.....
You need a tow so you can get it on jackstands or a rack to assess any further damage.
Doesn't sound drivable the way it is. It'll cost a fortune to have the floorpan replaced unless you do it yourself, and even then it's painful. Can you bash it back down into shape?
As for the scum bag that took advantage of your misfortune, I'll let you decide what to do...I have my own ideas but I can't legally post them.

you said it bent the tailshaft(shaft sticking out of transmission), yes the tranny has to be disassembled to change this. if it was just the tail housing, that can be done with tranny installed. if it got hit hard enough to damage the tail housing and break torque arm mount bolts, then it hit the tailshaft hard as well and may have caused internal damage and possibly cracked the case.

well it is drivable, enough that a can move it to a shop. i had it one jack stands, and from shiftin it back-in-forth from 1st to parked it shifted find and it doesnt make any noise but u can see and torque arm bolts and parts of the tail shaft that are broken.
