stuck at 1000 rpm???

When I powerbrake and floor the car, no matter which gear, I stay at 1000 rpms. Than I let off the gas and car idles funny.
I was wondering if my TCC is locked up all the time and what can cause this 1000rpm lock!?!? The transmission shifts fine, and there are spots where the car is slow. (If I slow down to about 20-25mph and give it gas, the car barely picks up, and if I go any lower on the pedal it downshifts and goes fast again.)????
I need some help... I exhausted my options (except the fuel pump)..

Prolly lost one of the one way clutches in the trans.

Or the stator and impeller are eating each other in the converter.

That would cause a functional trans to do low rpm burnouts. One or the other is what ate mine after my vortec head swap :-)

If it has always done this, there is the possibility u got some low stalled converter from another app, but if its at 1k rpm, I doubt it.

I can still burn rubber if I don't hold the brake! ITs a bit sluggish, but if I were to let it roll 5mph than gas it, the car takes off like it used to from a 0.
Would there be a possibility that I am not getting enough fuel when I am powerbraking the car??? Or do you think its the transmission.!?!?

If I were to get a new converter, how hard would it be to install???
