Would this be all I need for a tranny rebuild?
Im gonna have my tranny rebuilt but I wanna buy the parts and then take it to a good friend of mine that does trans rebuild and have him do it. Im gonna buy this kit http://www.700r4l60e.com/store/custo...&cat=19&page=1
and I need to know if I need to buy anything else to go along with this kit.
I heard something about a corvette servo? Also would I need a Torque Converter? Im completely up in the air about it and need alittle help.
Thx a million....................I think im more pissed this last couple days since my tranny took a dump then I have been in years.

This a very complete kit, and it does come with the Corvette servo. Edge offers a very good 9.5" lockup torque converter for the price, and it comes with a one year warranty. If you have any more questions let me know?

that kit only comes with the forward sprag element. you have an '86 model tranny. you will have to get another inner and outer race to go with it. do this and don't reuse the stock 26 element sprag assembly that is in your unit.

Definately get a new converter if your trans outright failed. The converter will harbor all kinds of junk that you can never fully flush out, and if your re-use it then all that junk goes right through your newly rebuilt trans. It isn't exactly cheap insurance, but it's insurance nonetheless.

Yes, get a new converter. Your 3/4 clutch pack is smoked. Little fragments of clutch and steel have been circulated through your trans and converter. When your trans is rebuilt the shop will thoroughly clean the trans case and other parts that will be re-used, but it is impossible to clean out a converter from my experience, so unless you want to circulate a bunch of junk through your fresh trans I would get a new converter.

Yes, you can buy everything from Pro-Built. That's what I did when I did mine. I would call up Dana, and talk to him about your trans and car, get his recommendations, and buy everything from him in one shot.
