torque converter
Ok, here is what happened. about three weeks ago my tranny started leaking everywhere. I took it in and was told the torque converter was leaking which meant it was bad. The car shifted fine, but i never drove it after i saw the leak. Anyway, it would shift from 3rd to 4th at 40mph. Now I got the car back with a remanufactured torque converter and now my 3rd to 4th shift is at 30 to 35 mph. I know the cable is going to be brought up, but the cable is fine. Its a new one and it's adjusted correctly. Is this the torque converters doing or my tranny?

The torque converter does not control the shifts, however it is possible that the leaking fluid caused a loss of line pressure & delayed the shift point.
