700r4 non lockup torque converter...

Is it the same as a turbo 350 converter or is there a difference.

I am looking for a 2500rpm stall converter to be installed while motor is out this week.

These torque converters are not interchangable.

is there a generic term for a 700r4 torque converter without lockup. Its as if ust because its a 700 they add $200 to the prices.

All i want is a good 2500-2800rpm stall.

yea other guys right...they dont interchage...i know the feeln about the price deal too. I jus put a 3000 stall non lock up in my 88 gta. Works Great with the cam and all i got in it. I chose to go with a Transmission Specialties converter. Prices are same as most but quality is hell of alot superior to 99% of companies out there. We've put in all street strip applications at work and havent had any come back bad or troublesome. Jus be thankful u dont want a lock up one....that adds about 400 on top of the reg non lock up price

They are refered to as "non-lockup" converters. You can get one from PDQ, they are in northern cali. Hughes is another brand that ppl recommend on these boards. I wouldnt put a non-lockup on a 700r4 unless it's drag only. If it see's highway, you will burn up the tranny.
