gearing up to to the t56 swap but where is everyone getting there cross members because the stock ones don't work right? and has any one done the t56 swap with the 4th gen dash swap im thinking of doing it at the same time wouldn't the speedo be right on with the newer gauges and tranny?

click the SPOHN link above to get your crossmember. As far as the 4th gen cluster AND 4th gen T56 trany working together, I doubt it will work without a convertor box. Your stock computer needs a signal from the VSS or you will end up getting a SES code and the effect of it will be an engine that runs a little different since there is no speed signal. At least those are the systoms I had when I did that swap. My engine would idle so low when the light was on that most of the tme it would just stall out. I ended up using the dakota digital SGI-5B box to send the speed signal to the ECM. I never got around to making it perfect sicne I pulled my 4th gen dash and put my old one back in with all Auto Meter gauges and a programmable electric speedo. Unless someone has more experiance then me with it, all I say is its gonna be a trial and error deal. But remember, you have got to get the ECM the correct speed signal since it uses that to adjust idle quality.(at least on my 91 with speed density) it did

Car: too many ...
I got my x-member from Skulte (SPD). I had the Spohn one but needed more ground clearance. Spohn one is beefy but might not be a good match for a car that is extremely lowered. I should take pics and measurements comparing the two before I send this Spohn one off (its been sold). Both good build and quality.

got my crossmember from spohn... went to his shop here in pa and picked it up.....
i have a 4th gen interior with the t56... but since i have a 91 sd ecm, i am able to go into the programing to set it to accept the vss signal comming in and correct it to go to the speedo and cruise... you can do one of 2 things, convert to speed density and a 730 ecm.. or you can get a buffer box from a tbi 91-92 maro or 87?? + firebird cars that had electric vss... and you will need the dakota digital box to conver the speed for the ecm you have now.. the other buffer box would be needed for your speedo and cruise since your ecm does not put out the signal for those.... got any question just ask or pm me or something...

where in pa are you at??

So, if you have a 730 SD ecm you dont need the SGI-5 box, you can just reprogram the chip . I thought you needed the SGI-5 for either ecm, that would be cool if it works with the 730, or did I misread.
